A WEST COAST VANCOUVER ISLAND WEDDING (ROD & DESIREE)

Okay so I may be a little bias because I'm an Island gal myself, but the lush green forests, clear glass river water and mountainous terrain really complete a beautiful backdrop for the perfect photograph...especially when a bride and groom are placed in these types of settings.  To be honest, I've been dying to shoot a wedding on the Island...I was completely in my element.
Rod and Des are old friends of mine from the little village I grew up in called "Gold River".  I was very honored to have a special part in their day documenting their important moments.  I love you both so very much, and all the best continuing the incredible journey that you've already started.
What can I say..... you may have been 45 minutes late for your reception, but I think after you see some of these moments, you'll know it was all worth it.

MIKE & EDEN'S WEDDING SNEAK PEEK

Congrats to highschool sweethearts Eden and Mike on a fabulous wedding day!
As for the day itself, it was a little warm shooting pictures, but I can't complain, I wasn't the one wearing a tux.  Mike and the boys were troopers... It's very rare that you can dodge the heat having an Okanagan summer wedding!  A big cheers to you both Eden and Mike!

EXPECTING (BECKY & MIKE)

Becky and Mike are expecting their first little miracle!  They travelled last minute from Calgary, all the way to their second home in the sunny Okanangan to capture some memories.  Yes we all have been waiting a long time to see the sun and they couldn't have chosen a better weekend for a photo shoot !  A little warm, a little bright, but none of us were complaining.  Thanks Becky and Mike, all the best to you and your adventures in life as parents!

KYLE & LINDSAY'S WILD WEDDING

SNEAK PEEK

On July long weekend I packed up my camera and headed out to a spot not too far from home, but remote enough to make me think I was quite a distance from civilization.  Okay... well except for the sound of the Canadian Pacific railway, but the wild Kumsheen River helped to drown out any other sounds around us.
As I entered my large canvas tent,  I felt as if I had gone back in time, as it was filled with old wooden furniture, and antique items from the Gold Rush era...very nostalgic.  This all just makes me appreciate even more what I do, and reminds me of how lucky I am to be doing what I do. Not only have I met many amazing people along the way, but I have been able to experience, and take in the beauty that B.C. has to offer, and it just continues to get better and better!  Thank you Kyle and Lindsay, for sharing your special piece of heaven...Josh (My husband) and I have already discussed another trip back in the near future...the rafting trip may have helped to inspire us to return... what a wild ride!  I wish Lindsay and Kyle as wild of a ride through their adventurous days together as one!
Stay tuned, as I will be posting more in the next week or so!
ENJOY!!!
