"Cold and Windy"

There is still so much to see and so much to shoot at night in Kelowna!  This was the first year that our downtown rink opened, and even though I haven't tested out the ice yet, and do plan on it,  a bunch of us thought it would be fun to go down and take some pictures.  Kelowna's  downtown City Art is becoming so much more developed, and the cultural district is growing fast...this I love to see!

By the outdoor rink there is a beautiful sculpture of a Spirit Bear, and an amazing display of lights, which made a perfect subject for us to photograph. 

After we got the shots we wanted, we all went in to warm up, as it was very windy and cold.  Once everyone was warm and ready, we went to the Eldorado to take some photos of the hotel at night all lit up!  Because it was so windy, I don't think the photographs turned out as clear as I would have liked;  it was hard trying to hold the tripod still, especially on the dock.  I'll be back another night for sure!

Bright Lights

 A friend and I decided to experiment with some night photography.   The lights on the Kelowna  shoreline in the evening are spectacular, and the refections off the lake make for an even better ambience.  I'm surprised that our first experimentation worked out as well as it did!  I'm pretty anxious and excited to go out and explore some more Kelowna nights to see what else I can capture!  Here's a look at a few of my favourite shots.

Experimenting

Last weekend I worked on another photo shoot with Jacquie and one of Allan International Models whom in the near future will be heading to Milan for a 3 month modelling contract.  It was a treat to fiddle around in a professional photography studio...lots of fun equipment, a clean backdrop screen, as well as an amazing stylist (Jacquie).  I'm very happy with the results!

"Fashion Fun"

Well, Jackie is back from New York for a short while and we are already creating together!  In my very first blog I posted some great fashion shots that Jackie and I produced from the past summer.  Here we are again but with a great start to 2011...a photo shoot that well describes the new year for most people...getting in shape. Watch out for Jackie's column "Closet Talk", and my photography in the Kelowna Daily Courier.
