A BLAST FROM THE PAST

This past week my family and I travelled back to my husbands home on Prince Edward Island to introduce Russell to his roots.  I had visited PEI with my husband a few times long before Russell was in the picture, and every trip I am amazed how I felt I was in another world, almost as if I was taken back in time.

I can now see why people say the soil is red from their ancestors blood, the history is as rich as the soil, something Canada should be proud of. This is a place where in some houses, power is still run off of oil, and those same houses people live in are well over 100 years old, paint is chipping, wood is rotting, and people put their blood, sweat and tears into their livelihood.

These people in PEI, a lot like Vancouver Island where I was born and raised, live off of the land and ocean.  As many of you know, lobsters and potatoes are what this Island is known for; it is something they are very proud of.

Everytime we make a trip out east, there is something different to see, and much more to learn about my husbands Acadian and Irish heritage.  I'm in complete and utter awe of Josh's family, and I'm proud to have our Son grow up with such strong east coast roots!

I highly recommend everyone at one point in their life to travel to the maritimes and endure in some of Canada's most spectacular history!

ENJOY EVERYONE!

RICHARD & KEIKO'S ENGAGEMENT SHOOT (OLIVER, B.C)

Keiko, oddly enough, is an old roomate of mine from my University days at OUC which is now UBC.   Richard, Keiko and I had fun with this shoot, literally....well, look at the photos, you'll know exactly what I mean!
Keiko the one thing I always remembered about you was this amazing energy that resonated from you everytime you were in the room.  It has been many years since then, and I can definitely say this....that energy is still there girl.
It was great to meet Richard, he is one lucky man to have such a fantastic woman in his life.  I look forward to hear about your future wedding plans, but for now hold on to eachother and enjoy your engagement!
